Hebrew Classes

Classes meet on Saturday from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. and are free and open to the public.  (Materials costs subject to change)

HEB 101 Hebrew for Kids I

A gradual, year-long study in reading, writing, and pronunciation of the Hebrew alphabet using word puzzles with vocabulary from the Bible.  Children 8 and up.   Materials: $15.00

HEB 102 Hebrew for Kids II

A year-long continuation of HEB 101. Materials: $18.00

All of the following classes meet for 8 weeks:

HEB 201 Introduction to Hebrew (Oct - Nov)

Reading, writing, and pronunciation of the Hebrew alphabet with written exercises.  A small vocabulary will be developed.   Teens and adults.  Materials: $15.00

HEB 202 Conversational Hebrew

Vocabulary and pronunciation of common Hebrew greetings and phrases using Pimsleur Quick & Simple Modern Hebrew CD's. Written exercises consist of translating short Hebrew dialogues.  This course is by independent study.   Teens and adults.  Materials: $20.00 + S&H.  Prerequisite: HEB 201

HEB 301 Prayerbook Hebrew & Psalms I (Jan - Feb)

Vocabulary and grammar of the Siddur, the Jewish prayer book, nearly identical with Biblical and modern grammar.  A psalm from the Bible will also be studied.  Materials: $28.00.  Prerequisite: HEB 101 or 201

HEB 302 Prayerbook Hebrew & Psalms II (Apr - May)

Continuation of HEB 301.  Materials: uses the same book as HEB 301.

HEB 303 Prayerbook Hebrew & Psalms III (Jul - Aug)

Continuation of HEB 302.  Materials: uses the same book as HEB 301 and 302.
