Frequently Asked Questions

Do you believe that Yeshua (Jesus) is divine and that He is part of the Trinity?

Yes.  That is the doctrinal position of the two largest Messianic Jewish organizations, the UMJC and the MJAA (see "Links" below for more information on these organizations).

Is worship on the Sabbath and observance of Old Testament holidays required for salvation or sanctification?

No.  We do so out of choice, enjoying their blessings without the burden of legalistic observance and regulation.  (see UMJC position paper "Is the Torah Only for Jews?")

Do I have to be Jewish to attend Kerem Adonai?

No.  Gentiles are accepted as full members of Messianic Jewish congregations, occupy positions of leadership, and may even pastor a congregation.   Most of our members are Gentiles.

Would I have to maintain a kosher diet?

No.  Our members may keep kosher for reasons of health, its symbolism, as reminders of their personal commitment to Yeshua, for identification with the Jewish people, and for being a more effective witness to some, but it is not obligatory.

Do you believe that your Gentile members are descended from the lost tribes of Israel?

No.  We are in agreement with The Messianic Jewish Alliance of America on this issue.  Scroll to MJAA POSITION PAPERS found at the following link and look for "The Ephraimite Error."
